Prosthodontics allows the functional and aesthetic rehabilitation of partially or totally edentulous dental arches through the placement of fixed or removable, total or partial prostheses.
With removable partial dentures, a limited number of teeth are replaced, resorting to artifacts that rest partly on the mucous membranes of the mouth and partly on the remaining teeth through retention elements.
With removable total dentures, it is possible to restore the chewing function of totally edentulous arches, using completely mucosal-supported artifacts or supported by osseointegrated implants that increase their stability and durability.
Fixed prosthetics aims to restore the integrity of individual compromised dental elements (single crowns) and to replace missing dental elements (bridges). It is performed both on natural teeth and on osseointegrated implants.
Materials used for fixed prosthetics are chosen according to the clinical, esthetic, economic and allergological needs of each patient. Individual prosthetic artifacts are certified by the dental laboratory according to current regulations.
Dr. Lorenzo Chimetto is passionately dedicated to prosthetic rehabilitations, taking advantage of the skills gained in the Master’s Degree in Implantology and Implant Prosthetics at the University of Pisa and in the field of dental technology.
